Vic man hurt, robbed of betting winnings

A Melbourne man has suffered broken ribs, cuts and bruises after being struck by a car as he was robbed of his betting winnings.

The 68-year-old was outside a betting shop in Glenroy about 5.50pm on March 10 when a woman approached him and asked for money, police say.

When he refused, she snatched his winnings and fled, but he chased her into a nearby street where a man and another woman were waiting in a car.

The pair struggled as the car reversed and struck him, throwing him off and injuring him.

Police have recovered the car, which had stolen plates, and have released an image of the thief in a bid to identify her.
