Man rescued from Melbourne’s Yarra River

A man has been rescued after becoming stuck waist-deep in Melbourne's Yarra River.

Emergency crews were called to the distressed 22-year-old at Hawthorn, just after 5am.

MFB fire crews set up retrieval lines to rescue the man, who was 15 metres down the embankment with minor injuries. He received treatment from paramedics at the scene.
